Someone steady to keep your day-to-day money on track.
I take care of the everyday side of your finances: bills, mail, paperwork, account upkeep, and medical bills. You stay in control, and nothing slips through the cracks.
What I help with
- Bill paying. On time, every time, from a dedicated account you control, with a written record of what was paid.
- Mail and paperwork. Sorting, tracking, and following up so important items do not get buried.
- Budgets and cash flow. A realistic plan built around how you actually live, and a monthly summary so you always know where you stand.
- Medical bills and insurance claims. Reviewing statements, tracking claims, and following up on what is unpaid or denied.
- Debt and autopay. Setting up autopay, keeping an eye on what actually processes, and building a payoff plan you can follow.
- Helping a family member. Support for a parent or loved one whose finances have become too much to manage alone.
How it works
- You tell me what is going on. Use the form below or send an email. A few sentences is plenty.
- We talk it through. A short, no-pressure call so I can understand your situation and tell you honestly whether I can help.
- We put it in writing. A clear agreement and a confidentiality agreement before I see anything sensitive. Then we start.
The money rules I work from
Thirteen plain habits, in order, adapted from an old collection of parables: pay yourself first, track what you spend, make your savings earn, and keep life in balance. I use them as the starting point with every client, and you are welcome to use them on your own.
About me
I am Jon Cherwa. I retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years as an explosive ordnance disposal technician, which is where I learned to stay calm, pay attention to details, and do what I say I will do. I started Instinctual Bookkeeping to bring that same steadiness to people's finances.

Your information stays protected
I do not hold or move your money. I work as an authorized user on an account you own, with limited access. Passwords are kept in an encrypted password manager and are never sent by email or text.
What I do not do
I am a daily money manager, not a CPA, investment advisor, financial planner, or attorney. I do not prepare tax returns, manage investments, or give legal advice. If you need one of those, I am glad to work alongside the professional you choose.
Tell me what you need help with
I read every message myself and reply within one business day.
